Engagement season is sneaking up on us. Before you know it, you will be wearing your stretchy pants, eating your aunt Mary’s famous Thanksgiving mac and cheese. With the holidays rolling around, you know what else that means? Engagement season, baby! With so many couples getting engaged it deserved a name. Between the months of November and February is the most popular time for that someone special to pop the question. If you are anything like myself, you know that you are getting engaged. Here are some things I did to look my best, for photographic reasons, of course.
I had “engagement” nails for literal months, six to be exact. Yes, that means no seasonal designs or super bright colors. I stuck with a color appropriately called “wifey material” for half of a year. I would change things up a little by adding a pearl finish here or there but for the most-part they were ring worthy all the time.

I stayed on top of my hair game. Any outing could be the one where they pop the question. It’s best to stay on the safe side. Keeping your roots maintained, if you color your hair or get highlights, is crucial. I had my hair touched up like clockwork.
Quality skincare is a must. Your makeup will only look as good as your skin does. If you use a 36 step skincare routine and it works, keep on doing it. If you’re a little lost or new to the game, less is more. Oil clean, water cleanse, serum/toner, and moisturize. Simple as that. There’s no need to over complicate things.
This one can be hard. It’s normal to struggle with this even without getting engaged on the brain. Aim for at least seven hours. I personally function best when I get nine hours but you know what works best for you.
This one may be a little controversial but go ahead and start researching wedding vendors in your area. I.E. “Myrtle Beach wedding vendors,” “wedding hairstylist,” “bridal hair stylist.” You get the gist. You can get a jump on wedding planning, which you will appreciate in the long run.
So underrated but so, so important. Talk with your significant other about getting engaged. Things you would like, must do’s, big no’s, and so on. If they really care, they will pay attention and put extra effort by taking you into consideration. Your first date location? Favorite restaurant? What you want to be wearing? Simply talk to them.
You’re going to look absolutely stunning when your person gets down on one knee. Getting engaged is so excited and the start of a new, thrilling chapter in your life. I wish you the best and happy planning!
